The evil the Mountain keeps is so terrible* and the magic to fight it is so powerful* that writing is forbidden to them... so this power can never be passed on to outsiders. But memory is betrayal and with the passing of the years* the Ar Ze become a people who ignore their origins and the reasons for their tasks. Their magic is weaker now* and only the shamans know of it. Somehow* creatures called Erictos have avoided the Ar Ze's surveillance and have left their Mountain haven to bring terror and death to the small towns below it with the Estgian Whisper* a spell that brings the dead back to life as slaves of Evil!
